Baseball
by Casey Sutton

The field is my sanctuary.
I live it,
Sleep it,
And eat.
With a bat in my hand,
I am invincible.
With the cleats on my feet,
I am untouchable.
No ball will get by me
Without being fielded.
I can hear the crowd cheering,
But do not acknowledge them.
They're blocked out,
And in another place,
For this is my sanctuary.
